If you have even the simplest abilities in playing a musical instrument, implement your musical skills to provide entertainment for seniors. Hearing live music, despite it's actual proficiency, can be extremely entertaining and enjoyable for them. Research has also proven that listening to music stimulates neurons, in which support brain activity!

Boardgames and Mahjong
Board games are fun to play, no matter how old you are! Embrace your festive and competitive nature when playing Scrabble, Chinese Checkers and numerous other games!
Numerous nursing homes will have these games, facilitators; however, if you're unsure of how to play these games..

Dog Walks and Lolly Trolly
If you're interested in taking part in having a time with fluffy companions and sharing delicious treats, taking the time to discuss with volunteer coordinators about these activities would be wonderful!

StandingTall
'StandingTall is a digital exercise program developed by fall prevention and exercise specialists at NeuRA (Neuroscience Research Australia). It has been co-designed with over 1500 older adults to ensure it’s easy to use, engaging, and effective.' (Standingtall.net.au)
Cosy Companion is partnering with StandingTall to encourage volunteers to support and accompany suitable residents in doing standing tall exercises.
Enabling effective physical activity that will empower older Australians to reduce their chances of falls can make a huge difference!

Appreciation of students performances
Students who are interested in a small musical performance can definitely do so. Nursing homes are often very supportive of music, as it plays an integral part in residents' lives and has a biological impact on their wellbeing and health.
